About Us

What is Tioga Franklin Savings Bank all about?

Our Mission

Our mission is to serve our customers with honesty, integrity, and competence. Our goal has always been to provide home loans to our clients while providing them with the lowest interest rates and closing costs possible. Furthermore, we pledge to help borrowers overcome roadblocks that can arise while securing a loan. We have been helping our customers afford the home of their dreams with our mortgage loans for years, and we would love to help you too!

Our Customers

Tioga Franklin Savings Bank is a local bank, helping people who either have or are seeking a mortgage in Philadelphia. While national banks have brand recognition and big names, local banks are ingrained in the local community. We were founded by people in Philadelphia, we are composed of people in Philadelphia, and most importantly we help people in Philadelphia. Our customers are local borrowers like you, and that’s why Tioga Franklin has been a trusted bank in this city for years.

Our Story

Our story is one that dates back more than 100 years! Tioga-Franklin has been around since the 1800s, and it began as the Tioga Building and Loan Association in 1873, a seemingly unlikely year to launch a new bank in the United States. Only eight years after the Civil War, our country found itself in the grip of a severe economic depression. Credit dried up, foreclosures were common, and banks failed all across the country.

Tioga-Franklin survived that economic crisis, along with every one since then, by sticking to our original mission and our core principles. These include conservative investing, offering competitive rates to both depositors and borrowers, responding quickly and courteously to customer concerns, and keeping fees to a minimum – we still stick to these core values today with the home mortgage and refinance loans that we offer.

In 1973, the Tioga Building and Loan Association merged with the Franklin Savings and Loan Association to form the Tioga-Franklin Savings Association. In July 2000, we became Tioga-Franklin Savings Bank and members of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Some “experts” have questioned whether small, mutually owned banks can survive in a world of much larger, more sophisticated competitors. We invite you to join the Tioga-Franklin family, and find out first-hand why we’re here to stay.
